How Happy Am I?

It's a fairly well known fact that I listen to only two kinds of music - musical theater and Irish. It's probably a slightly lesser known fact that there's one big exception, and that's ABBA. I LOVE all things ABBA. (Shout out to my friend Frankie Pooh, my fellow Dancing Queen!!!)

What most people don't actually know is that Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Tim Rice actually wrote and produced a fantastic musical all about international politics, great emotional upheaval and the game of chess. I found Chess in college, and was immediately smitten. Of course, the original stars that phenomenal Elaine Paige, whose talent and career I secretly wished I possessed. Sadly, singing is just not my gift, and so I have to live my fantasies through my collection of musicals.

I digress.

So last night I went to B&N for a little bit of quiet time. On my way out the door I stopped to pay for a couple of trashy novels (summer tis the season!). As I stepped to the counter, I saw it....A NEW FULL-LENGTH CONCERT RECORDING OF CHESS STARING SOME OF MY FAVORITE BROADWAY PERFORMERS.

Friends, today I am in heaven.

PS. I just found out there's a DVD....
