This one is pretty important. One of the reasons why we chose our home in this particular neighborhood was the fact that the contractors had done an excellent job of leaving the mature trees - giving each home a fair amount of privacy, especially in the summer. To our horror, when the home behind us was built (shortly after we moved in) the contractors managed to kill 23 trees in our neighbors' back yard. (long story...lawsuits ensued) It was heartbreaking...and very, very annoying as it exposed us to a lot of things we had thought we would avoid. It's been about 6 years since that happened, and finally...FINALLY...the trees are filling in enough to be rebuilding that privacy barrier. It helps that the trees in the yard to our right have also become gigantic, and it also helps that our own trees appear to be healthier this year than they have been in years.
It's definitely cause to be happy!
