Treasures
On October 17, my daughter participated in the Festival of the Arts at Access Arts as a weaving demonstrator. As I spent a very great deal of my youth demonstrating various types of handwork through various outlets, I was definitely one proud mama. It was so much fun watching her confidence build with each question she answered, and it was delightful to watch her work the loom with such focus and grace.
We did leave with a few new treasures, which I couldn't resist. Not only are they gorgeous, but the proceeds also support Access Arts, which is one of our favorite places in town. My two pieces are signed "Marypotz" and were done this year. I was drawn again and again to this woman's work, and think I found the two prettiest pieces! The spiral, though, is my absolute favorite. Several people pointed out that it matched the shawl I wore that day, and so I had to incorporate that into our photo shoot!
