The Fun Stuff I Promised

This is the best cake I EVER decorated, and I have decorated a lot...given that I started doing cake decorating in 4-H at the age of 12ish.

It's really what happens when your child wants to both have a Darth Vador cake and decorate a cake. She was torn...and I suggested a compromise. The cool thing is that she's old enough to do more than just squeeze the icing onto the cake now, and so between the two of us we got a pretty spectacular cake.

Darth would be so proud!

We actually celebrated with the cake yesterday. Later on today I'll post a few more birthday pictures...complete with the pretty darn spiffy gift that my girl received. (Yes, it is a highly unusual gift for an 8-year-old, and yes, she LOVES it. Guesses?)
